Villa la Pietra, Florence Italy, ongoing library survey.

One week in the summer of 2015 and two weeks in the summer of 2016 were spent under the supervision of Maria Fredericks, continuing the survey and repair work in the Biblioteca di Sopra, which houses literary works by poets and authors of the 1920’s and 1930’s, many of whom were friends of Harold Acton. Additionally, approximately thirty exceptionally rare books identified by Marvin Taylor, Director of Fales Library, in 2001, including first editions of works by Graham Greene, Samuel Beckett, and James Joyce were also surveyed and wrapped in acid-free tissue as a short-term storage solution while they await custom-fitted phase boxes.
